Shopify sales activity
Alero uses Shopify sales data to understand how your store normally performs and identify when something looks unusual.
- ✓ Order frequency
- ✓ Sales value
- ✓ The timing of orders
- ✓ Historical sales patterns
Alero monitors changes in your Shopify sales activity without needing access to your customers' personal information or the ability to make changes to your store.
Alero only needs the information required to understand your store's sales activity. We deliberately limit the data we use and do not use or store customer personal data.
Alero uses Shopify sales data to understand how your store normally performs and identify when something looks unusual.
Alero does not need your customers' personal information to monitor sales activity. Although customer information may be included within data made available through Shopify, Alero does not use or store it.
We only use and retain the Shopify information needed to provide Alero's monitoring service.
Alero's access to your Shopify store is read-only. We can monitor the sales activity needed to power your alerts, but we do not have permission to create, edit or delete your store content.
Alero works differently from monitoring tools that rely on the same fixed thresholds for every business. Every Shopify store is different.
A store receiving hundreds of orders each day behaves very differently from one receiving a handful of orders each week. Alero uses historical sales activity to build an understanding of what is normal for your store.
We take the security of store and account data seriously. Alero deliberately minimises the information it accesses and uses trusted systems to operate the service securely.
We only request access to the Shopify information required to provide Alero's monitoring service.
Access to production systems and data is restricted to authorised personnel who need it to operate Alero.
Alero is hosted using trusted cloud infrastructure and service providers required to operate the platform.
Alero does not sell your store data and does not use your Shopify sales data for advertising.
We do not share your Shopify sales data with third parties for their own use.
Like most online services, Alero uses trusted infrastructure and service providers where necessary to operate the platform, such as hosting and email delivery services.
These providers are used only where required to deliver and operate the Alero service.
We're happy to answer questions about how your information is accessed, processed and protected.
Alero is designed around the principle of data minimisation: only accessing the information required to provide the service.
In particular, Alero does not use or store the personal information belonging to customers who purchase from your Shopify store for its monitoring service.
When Alero is uninstalled from your Shopify store, its access to your store is revoked. Store data held by Alero in connection with the monitoring service is deleted following uninstall, subject to any information we are required to retain for legal, accounting or security purposes. You can also contact us at any time if you have questions about data associated with your Alero account or would like to request its deletion.
Alero monitors sales activity so it can tell you when something looks unusual. It is built to provide visibility without needing broad access to your Shopify store or your customers' personal information.
Alero watches sales activity and historical patterns to understand when something may need your attention.
Alero does not use or store your customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers or addresses as part of its monitoring service, and does not use or store payment details.
Alero cannot create, edit or delete products, orders, customers, themes or other content in your Shopify store.
If you have questions about how Alero accesses, processes or protects data, contact Alero Technology Ltd using the details provided on our website.
